The Sensitive Child Who Sought Protection in the World: The Personal and Emotional Journey That Birthed LAOR Care

For many years, the sentence that followed me like a shadow was "you are too sensitive." I grew up with a deep sense of internal loneliness, a sensitive child who felt forced to build his emotional and independent world almost entirely on his own. That phrase made me feel a certain rejection toward my own emotions, as if this sensitivity were a flaw. On my 13th birthday, when the familial ground beneath me shook, I realized that the security and peace I was searching for in the world would not arrive on its own—I was the one who would have to build it for myself.

This emotional environment turned me into an observant, curious person, and above all, someone looking for truth. As I grew up, the journey toward my self-identity was accompanied by fear, secrecy, and questions regarding my self-worth. At age 15, one small moment—a kind word from a friend—changed something within me. It was the first time I felt that I might be worthy of love and attention, and that my appearance and presence in the world held value.

The Battle with Acne: A Quest for Control and Healing

Into that complex emotional sensitivity of adolescence stepped a stubborn physiological battle that many know all too well: severe acne breakouts and struggles with skin appearance. For a teenager searching for his place, irritated, blemished, and unpredictable skin is more than just an aesthetic nuisance—it is a daily blow to self-confidence. I felt like my skin was betraying me, and every new breakout deepened a sense of helplessness.

I tried everything. I cycled through conventional solutions, harsh drying agents, and aggressive materials that promised to "erase the problem," but in reality, they only left my skin burning, peeling, and reacting with even more severe inflammation. The skincare industry around me felt full of false promises, drama, and marketing manipulation. This exhausting battle with acne, alongside an ongoing struggle with "yo-yo" dieting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, birthed an intense need to take control into my own hands. I wanted to understand the biology, the chemistry, and the truth of what happens beneath the surface. I wanted to find genuine healing that did not lie to the skin.

Journeying the World: The Precision of Japan and the Silence of India

Following my military service, where I began to feel more secure in my identity, and after a year of studying film and television at Tel Aviv University—where I experienced my first love—I felt an undeniable calling to explore the world. I packed a bag and set off on a long journey.

Between 1991 and 1993, I lived and traveled in Japan and Thailand, and it was during this time that my worldview completely shifted. Japan, with its precise, clean, and uncompromising aesthetics, absolutely astounded me. It was there that I first witnessed a culture of self-care that was completely devoid of grandiosity or quick fixes, focusing instead on deep respect for the body, sophisticated technology, and quiet ritualism. This fusion of high aesthetics and advanced technology ignited the idea within me that skincare could be a clean, exact science.

From 1997 to 1998, my journey took me to India and Nepal, where I participated in a 10-day Vipassana meditation in absolute silence. The Indian silence distilled the deepest insights of my life. It helped me release all the irrelevant dramas and noise, bringing me closer to my inner authenticity. I returned from that trip knowing that the world is exactly as I choose to think about it, and that I possessed the power to build a safe home for myself and for others.

1998: The Birth of Layering Architecture (LayerSystem7™)

When I returned to Israel, I decided to connect my natural creativity—the drive that had always led me to paint, write poetry, and sew clothes—with my newfound passion for science and botanical aesthetics. In 1998, I founded the "LAOR" cosmetics company.

My vision was clear: to create natural skincare that was technologically advanced, completely free of manipulation. Remembering the teenager I used to be, who battled acne and suffered from aggressive ingredients, I understood that facial skin—just like our psyche—needs a gradual, safe, and respectful defense system so it never feels threatened. The skin is not a flat canvas; it is a living architecture of layers.

This is how I developed the LayerSystem7™ methodology. I realized you cannot solve the skin's needs with a single product. It requires a first layer to cleanse, balance pH, and restore physiological peace. It needs thin, molecular layers (serums) to dive deep and repair cells. Finally, it requires upper locking layers to act as a soft, physical shield against the external environment and screen radiation. The very sensitivity I was once told was my flaw became my compass in the laboratory—the ability to feel the skin's distress and build a flawless protective envelope for it.

The Ultimate Restoration: The Family I Built

My emotional journey reached its true resolution and peace on June 3, 2009, when I met Rami, my husband and life partner. Together, out of love, mutual respect, and support, we built the warm, stable, and secure home I had always yearned for, and brought our two children, Lital and Eyal, into the world. Our family is living proof to me that any challenge can be transformed into an opportunity for growth.

I believe that every day is a chance to start fresh and discover the beauty within us. When you use LAOR Care products, you are receiving the distillation of my entire journey—formulas born out of deep sensitivity, rigorous science, and an absolute commitment to grant your skin what I spent my whole life searching for: protection, serenity, health, and security.
